Infant and Toddler Program

INFANT & TODDLER PROGRAM

Infant (age 6-weeks to 18-months)
& Toddler (age 18-months to three-years) Communities

The first three years of life are the most fundamental in the development of human beings and their potential. The infant program is focused on fostering basic trust in the child. Foremost in the environment is the adult whose caring, respectful response to the infant's needs, both physical and psychological, conveys the message of unconditional love and acceptance. The infant's primary goals are:
        (1) Development of Movement
        (2) Weaning Process
        (3) Independence - "The ability to do for oneself"

The toddler program focuses on the opportunity to work in the development of language, art, music, sensorial and practical life. Practical Life is particularly emphasized, as activities in this area give children the chance to develop skills to care for themselves and their environment in the following areas: Ground Rules, Control of Movement, Grace and Courtesy, Care of the Environment, and Care for One's Self.

The staff ratio is as follows: Infants 3:1, Toddlers 6:1.
