Fieldcrest Montessori School
Fieldcrest Montessori School, in North Canton,
Ohio, opened in the fall of 2006 with the development of the school
facilities being accomplished in multiple phases. The first priority
will be the construction of the classrooms for the toddler,
pre-primary, primary, elementary, and junior high.
Fieldcrest Montessori will follow an educational approach developed by
Dr. Maria Montessori. Dr. Montessori believed education comes from
within, driven by a natural curiosity and love of knowledge. The
students will advance at their own pace, thereby maximizing the results
of their efforts in our non-traditional classrooms. We have modeled
Fieldcrest Montessori after the practices followed by the very
successful Hershey Montessori Farm School in Concord Township, Ohio.
It has been over 100 years since the first Montessori school opened its
doors; we are so thankful for our knowledge of the luminous insights
given to us so long ago by, Dr. Maria Montessori. We now understand
that children around the world, in all strata of society, have the same
developmental needs. When we take the time to observe the child in
