ELEMENTARY PROGRAM

Elementary Community
(age 9 to 11)

At this level, the classrooms are equipped to build on past learning and respond to the children's expanding view of the universe. New materials are introduced as the children move from concrete to abstract thinking. Now the children explore libraries, museums, and other sites that contain information they seek in their personal quests for knowledge and understanding. At this age, when social interaction becomes important, the children naturally work together. This cooperative effort is an important part of the learning process.

The staff ratio is 15:1.
